Where do metal particles and shavings come from? How do they affect my engine?
Metal particles and shavings are a result of piston rings rubbing against cylinder wall liners. These usually end up floating around in the engine oil until it is filtered out.
But sometimes, these metal particles and shavings clog the oil filters. When clogged, valves allow unfiltered oil to be 'recycled' back into the engine. This leads to increased engine wear and tear.
How does MAGNETRAP work?
MAGNETRAP works by magnetising the oil filter casing that, in turn, traps metal particles within it. When the oil filter is removed, so are the particles and shavings.
